Startups that handle on-site data face a double challenge: proving their technology works, while also guaranteeing that sensitive information stays protected.
MODE, a Silicon Valley-based company that builds AI applications for the built world, has addressed that challenge head-on by achieving the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, according to a statement from the company.
At the center of MODE’s work is BizStack, which is a platform that integrates sensors, cameras, and AI to turn live conditions into actionable insights.
As adoption grows in sectors such as construction and manufacturing, the volume of sensitive data collected in real time continues to climb. The new certification signals that MODE has strengthened safeguards across its cloud infrastructure, product development, and operational processes.
For Gaku Ueda, CEO of MODE, the recognition is both a milestone and a starting point. “The ISMS certification is a significant milestone, but we will continue striving to improve our information security level further.”
“MODE is committed to ongoing security enhancements through continuous audits, employee training, and advanced cloud-based operations,” added the executive.
The move also illustrates a broader trend: startups cannot scale AI adoption without proving they take security as seriously as performance.
For MODE, aligning with international standards is likely to help open doors to enterprises that view trust and resilience as essential to digital transformation.
